Plants that purify

> Typically, offices have sealed windows and a controlled temperature – they’re stuffy, with little fresh or flowing air. Just add a plant to improve the air quality.

NASA did a study using houseplants to determine if they could indeed purify the interior of a space shuttle. The studies showed that the plants reduced volatile organic compounds such as benzene and formaldehyde, which are known to be toxic to humans at a high level.

You don’t have to be living in a space shuttle for this news to benefit you. Your first choice should be gerbera daisies and chrysanthemums. By the way, they don’t alleviate tobacco smoke in the air.
